Both Finn and Rohan were relatable and likable and full developed, three-dimensional characters with solid motivations. No spoilers, but I totally knew from the beginning the revelations about the Fae king (which made me squeal and caused my husband to quirk his eyebrow). I’ve been following Raythe for years and had a membership to her site at one point (might renew in the future, but I still keep up with her newsletter and free stories). Her writing is always fun and fantastical and her characters are always interesting. The art is always amazing, too <3, so kudos to her artists!My ONLY constructive criticism is the very few grammar and punctuation errors (which were not enough to take me out of the story). Her site, too, has enough punctuation errors that make me wonder as to the qualification of her editors/beta readers. No offense to her editors, but I just had to mention it in case that’s something she can improve upon in her team (I’d happily volunteer as tribute!). As an English major and fellow writer, I tend to be a grammar-nazi. So, take that all with a grain of salt. Her work is just so polished, otherwise.That aside, I can’t wait to continue this series as money permits. I wish I could buy all her works. It’s so hard to find quality writing in this genre, but Raythe treats it respectfully. You can tell she gives a damn about her characters, their histories, and their messages. She doesn’t just write to give you a steamy scene (although they are plentifully steamy) - I feel like she writes to tell an actual love story...with realistic people, with realistic struggles. The erotica comes secondary, which is what I prefer. I love a heaping serving of PLOT with my p*rn, thanks!Raythe, you’re epic! As a fellow writer, I truly admire you and the empire I’ve watched you build upon over the years on your site. Keep doing what you’re doing <3!!! Just wanted to add my voice to those cheering on this spectacular, fantasy / gay romantic take on the Cinderella tale. I say romantic, because if you're looking for the usual string of endless bedroom scenes thinly masquerading as a novel (as happens so often with mm novels - my pet peeve! - don't authors think we want to care about characters too?) -this isn't it. These are characters with depth and compassion that you just want to cheer on & wish you knew personally, fueled by a fantastic plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat. And while I can see the parallels with the original Cinderella tale, this is in no way a mere repackaging of the story . . . it's about as unique & special a book as one can find, with it's own wonderful characters, plot twists, etc - retaining the original as a kind of loose framework, but wholly and absolutely it's own story. I just wish there were books like this when I was growing up. But I'm not complaining - I'm so glad it's here now! :-) Bravo & can't wait for more!!!
