Wulf, universe-renown model and a good friend of Yvan and Trink's (owners of Batchelors), is in big trouble. For years he's been manipulated and lied to by his manager. Because he thinks Luc killed his father—and made him watch. The shift as Wulf finds what he thought he knew as a child is not real is interesting, if (maybe?) a little fast. As a man, he accepts his role os Luc's Chosen. He admits he loves Saint-Cyr and falls into a Dom/sub relationship that's hot as a Texas August afternoon.This is a different kind of book than the others starring Luc, one of my favorite characters. For one thing, the scenes are explicit and (to me) tended to take greater precedence over the action of the book. I enjoyed seeing Luc's interactions with Senth in his teen years—just as stormy as human teen/parent relationships! Though Senth drives Luc crazy, his pride and love for the youngster are endearing. Even though there is a story that drives Luc and Wulf's pairing, The only real criticism I have is the nibbling scenes at the end where they sample a wealth of foods before sampling each other. I applaud Ms. Allen's foray into the open, wilder side of Luc Saint-Cyr and look forward to the next book in the series. I recommend. I was totally engaged by this story. I had no expectations as I began reading, but if I had I would not have been disappointed. The characters here are unique and captured me. I would highly recommend this book to my best friends as well as strangers with only the warning that there is some BDSM involved, though for me it was light and further developed the characters involved. A question raised for me: given the advanced date and technology, what would have happened to cyborgs? Their characters and status is not clear and could have major impact in the society described, imho.
